Solana

Solana is a fast and scalable blockchain designed to support decentralized applications (dApps) and cryptocurrencies. Launched in 2020, it features a unique consensus mechanism that combines Proof of Stake (PoS) with an innovative technology called Proof of History (PoH). This allows Solana to process thousands of transactions per second (TPS), significantly outperforming other networks like Ethereum while keeping transaction costs low.

Solana has gained popularity in DeFi, NFT, and gaming sectors due to its speed and low fees. However, the network has faced challenges, including outages and partial centralization of its infrastructure. Despite these issues, it continues to evolve and is considered one of the leading scalability solutions for Web3.
